The original release of Ys III took place on 8-Bit home computers. Three versions exist: - PC-8801 (21 July 1989) - PC-9801 (28 July 1989) - MSX2/2+ (20 Oct 1989) Currently they are all out of stock, but the MSX2 version (pictured) has been dug up occasionally. Hopefully we'll have something back in soon!

The X68000 plays host to the first 16-Bit version of Ys III. It's also one of the best versions out there, just topped by the PC Engine's soundtrack and finish. A very rare item it seems - we've never had one in!

The PC Engine gets treated to an absolutely phenomenal version of Ys III. The game can be a bit sketchy at times, but the audio and presentation are second to none. The best version? CD case, PC Engine CD-ROM² disc, colour manual, spine card.

Visually Tonkin House's Super Famicom port is a lot smoother than the PC Engine version, but without the presentation it looses a lot of impact and drama. Still a great version of a great game. Standard cardboard SFC packaging, 8Mbit cartridge, colour booklet.

Last but not least comes Telenet's Mega Drive conversion. A good one it is too - maybe a little below the PCE and SFC versions, but the quality of the game still shines. Standard MD case, 8Mbit cartridge, colour booklet.
