SSFIIX
marks the arrival of the
very first issue in the
Gamest
Mook series.
Contents include a brief
'Fighting Gouki' section,
2-page profiles for the
rest of the cast, and a
massive 80 pages of sheet
music for all the in-game
BGM. What gives the item
most of its value is its
bonus (Macintosh only) CD-Rom
disc, that includes the
complete soundtrack along
with a few interactive features.
A very collectible item!
136
pages, 40 in colour, Japanese.

The
3DO caught everyone by surprise
with this superb port of
SSFIIX - it sure helped
sell quite a few 3DO machines
back in its day, along with
a fair amount of joysticks
& SFC pad adaptors (the
standard 3DO pad is 3-button
only).
With Capcom themselves at
the helm, nothing much could
go wrong: the playability
is flawless, and the CD
soundtrack has since become
the benchmark of the series.
Still a great version today!
CD
case, 3DO CD-Rom, monochrome
booklet, spine card.

The
Street
Fighter series celebrates
its 10th anniversary with
this 2-CD retrospective
collection. Includes:
- Super
Street Fighter II (1993)
- Super
Street Fighter II X
(1994)
- Street
Fighter Zero 2' (1997)
Sadly the conversions of
SSFII and SSFIIX fall slightly
below the mark - it's the
'Dash' upgrade of SF Zero
2 (exclusive to this collection)
that makes the package worthwhile.
Double
CD case, 2 x Saturn CD-Rom,
48-page colour manual, spine
card.

The
PlayStation also gets its
share of Street
Fighter goodness with
the 3-in-1 'Collection' compilation:
- Super
Street Fighter II (1993)
- Super
Street Fighter II X (1994)
- Street
Fighter Zero 2' (1997)
Again, SSFII and SSFIIX are
a little jerky - here the
hardware struggles even more
than the SS. But the package
is rescued in style by the
superb 'Zero 2 Dash' - a vastly
improved version of the original
PlayStation port of Zero 2.
Twin
PS case, 2 x PS CD-Rom,
48-page colour manual, spine
card.

Following
the disappointing SS and
PS 'Street Fighter Collection'
versions, players had to
wait until late 2000 for
a another release of SSFIIX
to finally appear.
The Dreamcast does the honours
this time, along with a
few minor 'Matching Service'
online features thrown in.
A very valuable DC release
- it is still very much
in demand!

Trying
to transfer SSFIIX's subtle
and complex gameplay onto
the handheld Game Boy Advance
could only finish in tears
for all involved.
Jerky animation, poor collisions,
bugs, infinites, 4-buttons
only... An idea that was
doomed from the start.
Only the original character
art is worth mentioning.
Standard
GBA cardboard packaging,
64MBit cartridge, colour
