PC Genjin
PC原人
(1989)

----------

In 1989, Nintendo had Mario and Sega had Alex Kidd. NEC's PC Engine was definitely lacking a figurehead of its own - a loyal and subservient über-soldier who will not hesitate to take on the opposition and sort them out at the gates.
So Hudson came up with the 'PC Genjin' - a bizarre and deformed hero from some near-indescribable prehistoric dimension, kitted out with nothing more than a loincloth, an iron head and a distinctively wry smile.
Distinctive is the word… Hudson's designers delivered a truly unique hero here, and some very one-off game mechanics to boot. The 'PC Kid' can head butt, jump, spin and dive down head first in mid-jump, bouncing off the enemy. You can bash folk around all over the place.
It's great fun: the game's creative levels, zany character design and quirky hidden bonus games make it a great little romp, and a good prelude to the peak of the series - the brilliant PC Genjin 2 (1991).
